The energy renovation of the Szent Imre High School, Primary School, and Kindergarten, belonging to the Diocese of Sz\u00e9kesfeh\u00e9rv\u00e1r, has been completed in Sz\u00e9kesfeh\u00e9rv\u00e1r. Thanks to the project linked to the 2014-2020 European Union funding period, hundreds of children can now study in better conditions at the institution. The modernization and expansion of the building enabled the institution to start its first high school class in 2022.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Between 2016 and 2020, the energy renovation of buildings of public institutions in the Diocese of Sz\u00e9kesfeh\u00e9rv\u00e1r was carried out in several phases and locations, financed by the Environmental and Energy Efficiency Operational Programme (EEEOP). In Sz\u00e9kesfeh\u00e9rv\u00e1r, the development involved two buildings of the Szent Imre High School, Primary School, and Kindergarten.  The works started in April 2019 in Sz\u00e9kesfeh\u00e9rv\u00e1r and, despite the difficulties caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, lasted only two years.<\/span><\/p>\n

The development affected the neighbouring buildings on Budai Road and Szent Istv\u00e1n Square.  In the Budai Road school building, the attic was insulated, the so-called rebate window frames of the historic building were renovated, a new metal door was installed, thermostatic radiator valves were fitted as part of the heating system modernization, and a 49.5-kilowatt grid-connected solar panel system was installed.  Special attention was paid to preserving the original beauty of the building’s distinctive facade while renovating it. In the kindergarten building on Szent Istv\u00e1n Square, the attic was also insulated, the rebate window frames were renovated, and thermostatic radiator valves were installed. <\/span><\/p>\n

Thanks to the modernizations, the buildings can be partially operated using renewable energy. The insulation of the attic and facade significantly reduced the buildings’ heat loss, resulting in substantial energy and cost savings for the institution. During the attic conversion, a new ceiling structure was created, enriching the twelve-classroom primary school with four additional rooms, specialized classrooms, and small rooms. Additionally, a multifunctional auditorium was established in the emblematic building.<\/span><\/p>\n

Thanks to the investment of the Diocese of Sz\u00e9kesfeh\u00e9rv\u00e1r, hundreds of children can learn and develop in more modern conditions in the buildings of the Szent Imre High School, Primary School, and Kindergarten. <\/span><\/p>\n

The development was implemented with European Union funding under the EEEOP-5.2.3-16-2016-00036 project.<\/span><\/p>\n
