With the support of the Integrated Transport Development Operational Program (IKOP), a more than 57-kilometer-long expressway section of the M30 highway was built, which ensures the connection of Miskolc \u2013 as a regional center \u2013 and the Slovak border. Another section of the TEN-T transport network has been built with the motorway, the trail joins the R4 motorway in Slovakia next to the border crossing at Tornyosn\u00e9meti.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The project of the Ministry of Construction and Transport, titled the implementation of the section of M30 highway between Miskolc and Tornyosn\u00e9meti, is intended to strengthen the economic axis between Miskolc and Ko\u0161ice, and the motorway section is also part of the north-south Via Carpatia road corridor.<\/p>\n

The Via Carpatia transport corridor is the shortest route from the Baltic Sea to the Aegean Sea connecting the northern and southern borders of Europe. Starting from the Lithuanian port city of Klaipeda, it passes through Poland by touching Kaunas and then through the cities of Bialystok, Lublin and Rzesz\u00f3w. After the city of Kosice, it runs through the cities of Miskolc and Debrecen in Hungary. The route in Romania affects the cities of Oradea, Lugoj, Constanta and Calafat, passes through the Bulgarian capital, Sofia, then Svilengrad, and finally ends in Solun, Greece. It is being implemented, countries have started building individual routes.<\/p>\n

The development took place within the framework of two projects, at several stages of construction. The Miskolc-Tornyosn\u00e9met section was built in a 2×2 lane, nearly 58 kilometers long, with a design speed of 130 km \/ h, with multi-modal transport hubs. The investment also included a complex and two simple resting areas, as well as an axle weight measuring station and an engineering plant required for operation. At the border section of Tornyosn\u00e9meti, the motorway was built with a 2×2 lane, 1.7 kilometers long, at a design speed of 110 km \/ h.  On the section a multi-modal transport hub was also established, with two roundabouts and a five-beam bridge.<\/p>\n

The section of the motorway between Tornyosn\u00e9meti and the border has been used by road users since January 2018, and the section between Miskolc-Tornyosn\u00e9meti has been used in 2021. The extended motorway connects the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) and the Mediterranean corridor with the Ukrainian border. The M30 motorway provides a direct connection between the eastern parts of Hungary, Slovakia and Poland, and to the south between Romania and Bulgaria.<\/p>\n

The project can contribute to the economic development of the region, as several large international companies have chosen Miskolc as the location of their investments over the past decade. It simultaneously increases the competitiveness of local cities and the region, while also facilitating the operation of international transit. Allowing traffic to flow faster and safer will shorten travel times and reduce road congestion and accidents.<\/p>\nngg_shortcode_0_placeholder\n
