If you’ve long been frustrated by slow and uncomfortable train journeys between Kaposv\u00e1r and Fony\u00f3d, we have great news: the railway line has undergone a complete modernization, and from now on, you can expect faster, more modern, and more comfortable travel!<\/p>\n
The development aimed to improve suburban rail transport in Kaposv\u00e1r and was implemented as part of the modernization program for Railway Line No. 30. One of the project’s key goals was to strengthen Kaposv\u00e1r’s TEN-T connection, significantly improving access not only to the city but also to the entire South Transdanubia region and Lake Balaton. And this is not just an empty promise!<\/p>\n
During the works, the entire 53-kilometer section was revitalized. By upgrading the tracks, the original 80 km\/h track speed was restored, ensuring faster and smoother travel. Additionally, modern high platforms were built at eight stations and stops, making boarding and alighting easier and safer for passengers.<\/p>\n
Comfort was also a top priority: brand-new shelters, P+R (Park and Ride), and B+R (Bike and Ride) parking facilities were installed at six locations, making railway access even more convenient. The station surroundings have been completely renovated, ensuring a more pleasant experience right from arrival. And if railway noise has been a concern, there’s good news \u2013 970 meters of noise barriers have been built, creating a quieter environment.<\/p>\n
