On December 15, 2025, the Municipality of Mak\u00f3 launched the \u201cMak\u00f3 Human Development\u201d project, part of the Sustainable Urban Development Pillar. The program, with a budget of around HUF 646 million and running until August 2028, aims to improve residents\u2019 quality of life, strengthen community ties, and support a wide range of social groups, including seniors, youth, and people with disabilities. Key activities focus on education, social and healthcare services, as well as leisure and sports. Planned initiatives include mobile health screening days, disability awareness programs, youth recreational activities, and various sports events.<\/p>\n
On the fourth Sunday of Advent, residents of Kenyeri celebrated the opening of the renovated Ady Endre Cultural House and Community Space. Part of the Municipal Buildings Energy Renovation Pillar, the building now features 15 cm of external insulation, all-new windows and doors, two heat pumps, and high-performance solar panels. Thanks to this HUF 190 million upgrade, the facility is now fully energy self-sufficient.<\/p>\n
At the beginning of 2026, the Municipality of Balassagyarmat announced that a series of comprehensive urban development projects will begin in the coming years. These initiatives aim to modernize city infrastructure, renew public spaces, and create a more livable and sustainable urban environment. Transportation improvements are a key focus: construction will start on the Balassagyarmat\u2013Patvarc and Balassagyarmat\u2013Ny\u00edrjes bike paths, with budgets of HUF 400 million and HUF 255 million, respectively. In addition, 11 inner-city roads will be fully renovated and new road sections will be built, supported by HUF 400 million in funding. Beyond transportation, sports and recreational facilities will also be upgraded: the Ipolyparti Sports Center will be renovated with more than HUF 512 million, and the city\u2019s stormwater drainage system will be modernized at four key locations with HUF 400 million in funding. The development package also includes tourism projects with a budget of HUF 600 million, including the second phase of the Ny\u00edrjes holiday area improvements, starting this year. Urban green spaces are a major focus, with HUF 700 million allocated for their renovation. As part of a comprehensive park and playground program, work will take place at seven locations, creating more family-friendly and livable public spaces.Public institutions are also being upgraded. By 2028, HUF 203 million will renovate the kitchen and social facilities of the Szent Erzs\u00e9bet Elderly Home, and HUF 200 million will improve the GAMESZ central kitchen. Education facilities will benefit as well: HUF 310 million for the Central and J\u00e1t\u00e9kv\u00e1r Kindergartens, HUF 13.4 million for the Achim Street Nursery, and HUF 430 million for Kiss \u00c1rp\u00e1d Primary School. Cultural and community life will be enhanced through the renovation of Mad\u00e1ch Cinema and the Open-Air Stage (HUF 500 million), the central section and Ceremonial Hall of the County Hall (HUF 550 million), and the construction of a new Health Center (HUF 250 million).
