A more modern, welcoming healthcare centre in Vasszécseny

Nobody particularly enjoys going to the doctor or spending time in a waiting room, but every now and then, we all need to. And when we do, the surroundings can make a real difference. A comfortable waiting area, modern consultation rooms and easy access for everyone are all things that matter. In Vasszécseny, local residents can now receive primary healthcare in a more modern and welcoming environment following the renovation of the village’s healthcare centre.

A healthcare centre needs more than just the right medical equipment. A comfortable, well-designed environment also helps ensure that patients receive care in safe and suitable conditions. With the help of EU funding, the healthcare centre in Vasszécseny has undergone a major renovation. The facility serves not only the village itself but also residents of the neighbouring communities of Csempeszkopács and Tanakajd.

Before the renovation, the building no longer met the requirements of modern primary healthcare, so GP services and health visitor consultations had been provided in the local council building. The renovation has brought these services back into a dedicated healthcare facility. The upgraded centre now has separate consultation rooms for adults and children, a room for health visitor services and a space equipped for taking blood samples. Patients can also make use of two waiting rooms, while families with young children have a dedicated play corner. A separate room provides space for private consultations, allowing sensitive medical discussions and some administrative tasks to take place in a quieter, more discreet setting.

The project also brought major improvements to the building itself and its energy efficiency. The roof was renovated, windows and doors were replaced, and modern insulation was added to the exterior walls and attic floor. Solar panels and energy-efficient lighting now help reduce electricity consumption. The basement was also renovated to protect the building’s structure, while improvements to the parking area have made access safer and more convenient. Thanks to the accessible design, the centre is now easier to use for patients with reduced mobility.

The renovated healthcare centre provides primary care for more than 2,000 people living in Vasszécseny, Csempeszkopács and Tanakajd. Its modern consultation rooms and improved working environment also offer better conditions for healthcare professionals, helping ensure that local residents continue to have access to reliable healthcare services for years to come.

The development was implemented from EU funding in the project TOP_PLUSZ-3.3.2-21-VS1-2022-00014 under the Territorial and Settlement Development Operational Programme Plus.
