To boost the local economy and meet community needs, a new farmers’ market has opened in Sukoró as part of the Territorial and Settlement Development Operational Program. Funded by the European Union, this investment aims to provide a sales platform for local producers, while ensuring that residents have access to fresh, high-quality, and affordable local products.
The town’s newest gem is a modern, easily accessible, and wheelchair-friendly marketplace featuring fixed vendor stalls, sanitary facilities, and ample parking, creating a comfortable environment for both shoppers and sellers.
One of the key benefits of this new market is that local farmers can sell their products directly, ensuring that customers receive fresh, homegrown, and quality-controlled goods. The selection includes seasonal vegetables and fruits, locally made dairy products, honey, homemade baked goods, and other regional specialties.
Beyond expanding shopping options, the market contributes to the growth of the local economy. It provides a stable sales point for small-scale farmers, creates new jobs, and serves as a community hub where residents can meet, socialize, and connect with local producers.
For the Municipality of Sukoró, this project represents another step toward sustainable development and improving residents’ quality of life. Officially opened on December 14, 2018, the market has quickly gained popularity among locals and visitors from nearby towns. If you’re looking for high-quality local products straight from the producers, be sure to visit the Sukoró Farmers’ Market!
The development was implemented from EU funding in the project TOP-1.1.3-15-FE1-2016-00001 under the Territorial and Settlement Development Operational Programme.
