A modern health centre in Újszász

One of the key features of modern healthcare is ensuring that patients can access services easily and in a comfortable, welcoming environment. In Újszász, in Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County, the development of the local health centre has improved the quality of care available to residents by bringing adult GP services, paediatric primary care and the health visitor service together under one roof.

As part of the EU-funded development, a new wing was built on Szabadság Square and connected to the existing building.

The equipment used by the health visitor service was also upgraded. In addition to tools supporting everyday care, equipment required for cervical cancer screening was purchased, further expanding the range of healthcare services available locally.

Accessibility and sustainability were important aspects of the project. The building is fully accessible, while a solar panel system helps make its operation more energy-efficient.

The surrounding area was also improved as part of the development. A landscaped courtyard, new access routes and pavements, as well as additional parking spaces – including an accessible parking space – make the health centre easier and more convenient to reach.

The development was implemented from EU funding in the project  TOP-4.1.1-15-JN1-2016-00021under the Territorial and Settlement Development Operational Programme.
