In the framework of the project for the Central Hungary region of the Danube 15 new or renewed water tour stops have been established. The Hungarian Kayak-Canoe Association (MKKSZ) strengthens the leisure tourism aspect of kayaking and canoeing by extending the active water related recreational activities and by setting up a national network of water tour stops.
Due to EU support, this technical development has been implemented in several places such as Szob, Vác, Göd, Dunakeszi. Setting up a single network creates a marketable water tourism offer with project elements and services stretching over several counties. As part of the developments a new portal has also been started providing several other services beyond its map displays making it possible for visitors to plan programmes, discover tourist attractions, select hospitality facilities and to become familiar with the basics of water-related hiking and paddling tours.
Complex development of the Central Danube water tourism could be implemented thanks to project VEKOP-4.1.1-15-2016-00004 under the Competitive Central Hungary Operational Programme by using EU funding.
