A village house’s modernisation has been been completed in Rigács, Veszprém County under the Territorial and Settlement Development Operational Programme Plus (TSDOP Plus).
The operations of strategic importance of the 2021-27 programming period are called pillars. One of the pillars of the TSDOP Plus programme is the “Energy Renovation of Municipal Public Buildings” call for proposals, within which the project “Energy Modernisation of the Village House in Rigács” was implemented.
As part of the investment, the entire facade and attic ceiling of the popular community house were insulated over a total area of 570 square meters, 23 energy-efficient windows and doors were installed, and a complete heating and cooling system with a water-to-air heat pump and solar panels was set up. All this has made the operation of the house more economical and sustainable, and it is estimated that the modernisation will reduce the building’s operating costs by 2 million forints annually. The costs of the investment were covered by a non-repayable grant of 85 million forints from the joint funds of the Hungarian State and the European Union. According to the intention of the local government, the development can be an example for the residents to review the energy consumption of the residential buildings with more expensive operation, similarly to the municipal modernisation. According to further plans, a social laundry will soon be operated in the renovated building: three industrial washing machines will be placed there, and a family will be able to wash 15 kilograms of clothes per week.
As part of the Pillar programme, the development was implemented from EU funding in the project TOP_PLUSZ-2.1.1-21-VE1-2022-00006 under the Territorial and Settlement Development Operational Programme.
