The secret of successful businesses lies not only in stable foundations but also in their ability to adapt continuously to the rapidly changing market environment. EU funding can play a key role in this area, as the right support helps domestic companies increase their competitiveness while ensuring sustainable economic growth.
Szabó Gear Manufacturing Ltd.,based in Kaposvár, has implemented comprehensive developments in its EU-funded project under the Economic Development and Innovation Operational Program, which not only increases production efficiency but also broadens future innovation opportunities. The company has been committed to quality and innovation since 1976, becoming a significant player in the market today. They currently employ 50 people and continuously work to maintain their position in the global competition.
To expand production capacity, a modern 5000 m² manufacturing hall was built with EU funding, and thanks to the support, several important tools were acquired: a Gleason 3D CNC gear measuring machine, a Kellenberger K100 universal CNC grinding machine, a G+H CNC cylindrical grinding machine, and an Arthur Klink honing machine. These offer the most modern solutions, making the production process faster and more precise.
The developments aimed not only at efficiency but also at minimizing harmful environmental impacts. The 136 kW capacity solar panels installed on the roof of the manufacturing hall not only reduce costs for the company but also ensure energy independence. By optimizing energy consumption and utilizing renewable energy sources, the company contributes to reducing its ecological footprint while gaining economic benefits.
With the introduction of new technologies, the company’s marketing competencies have also undergone significant development. In this project, the company aimed to improve its consulting services to align better with market demands and more effectively support its clients.
Business development plays a key role in increasing Hungary’s economic strength. Through investments based on the latest technology funded by EU sources, as well as solutions focused on sustainability, Szabó Gear Manufacturing Ltd. can strengthen its position not only in the domestic market but also in international markets.
The development was implemented from EU funding in the project GINOP_PLUSZ-1.1.2-21-2022-00078 under the Economic Development and Innovation Operational Programme.
