A century of care, now energy-efficient

2026. 01. 12.

Medical care has been provided on the grounds of the Toldy Ferenc Hospital in Cegléd for over a hundred years—and that long history has left its mark on the buildings. Two old, well-worn nurses’ residences have now been renovated thanks to an EU-funded project under the Environmental and Energy Efficiency Operational Programme (EEEOP) during the 2014–2021 funding period.

As part of the project, the buildings received new thermal insulation, outdated and drafty windows were replaced with modern triple-glazed units, and the ventilation system was upgraded. The roofs and attic spaces were also newly insulated.

The results are clear: lower greenhouse gas emissions, reduced energy costs, and—just as importantly—more functional and visually improved buildings.

The development was implemented from EU funding in the project KEHOP-5.2.10-16-2016-00135 under the Environmental and Energy Efficiency Operational Programme.
