An Inspiring Learning Environment in Jászberény

2025. 12. 03.

The quality of the learning environment has a profound impact on the effectiveness of education. Thanks to a comprehensive development project carried out at the Liska József Vocational School, Grammar School and Dormitory, a branch of the Jászberény Catholic Primary and Secondary School, the institution now offers energy-efficient, modern, and student-friendly spaces for its community.

Supported by EU funding, both the school building and—prioritizing the quality of life of resident students—the dormitory wing underwent major energy-efficient upgrades. External insulation was added, complemented by ceiling and basement insulation. The old, worn-out windows were replaced with state-of-the-art, thermally insulated units to minimize energy loss. The heating system was also modernized: new high-efficiency boilers, modern radiators, and precisely adjustable valves were installed, allowing for optimal temperature control across different zones. A newly installed solar panel system now covers part of the institution’s electricity needs through clean, renewable energy.

The immediate results of this well-planned investment are already visible: the institution’s energy consumption has dropped dramatically. In the long run, this not only reduces costs but also significantly lowers its environmental footprint. Additionally, the school and dormitory buildings have become more modern both aesthetically and functionally, creating ideal learning and teaching conditions for students and educators alike. Yet the essence of the project goes beyond technical upgrades; improved comfort and a more inspiring atmosphere can pave the way for enhanced academic performance.
