One of the most popular financial instruments of the Economic Development and Innovation Operational Programme was clearly the loan program to boost business competitiveness. The programme targeted the development of advanced products and services for domestic companies.
The loan program provided an opportunity to develop micro, small and medium-sized enterprises that had no or insufficient access to finance. The repayable grant provided the opportunity to purchase new equipment and intangible assets, finance construction works or purchase real estate.
Cívis Márvány Limited Liability Company, based in Nyíregyháza, was established in 2005 with the aim of becoming a leading player in the Hungarian and international stone industry market. The company employs mainly masonry and technical specialists and economists. Its main activities include stone working, the production and trade of gravestones and building stones. The main raw materials used are granite, marble, limestone, basalt, talc, christallite and labradorite.
Thanks to EU support, a new stone processing plant has been built and a modern stone processing machinery has been purchased. This has enabled the company to strengthen its position in the market and to start wholesale activities and to provide a higher level of service to its new gravestone partners.
The development was implemented from EU funding in the project GINOP-8.3.1-16 under the Economic Development and Innovation Operational Programme.
