Thanks to EU funding, the Tiszaadony Goat Cheese Production Social Cooperative has taken a significant step forward by modernizing its cheese-making facility. With the help of state-of-the-art machines and equipment, production has become faster and more efficient. The new machinery not only improves the manufacturing processes but also enhances product quality while preserving the unique flavors of traditional handcrafted cheeses.
In 1999, the Municipality of Tiszaadony launched a social land program, laying the foundation for local goat cheese production. Through this initiative, families in need received young goats, promoting self-sufficiency. As the goat population grew, the demand for milk processing emerged, eventually leading to cheese production. Over the years, the program evolved into a sustainable economic activity, creating jobs for locals and establishing a comprehensive production process—from goat farming to cheese-making, packaging, and sales.
Goat cheese is not only delicious but also highly nutritious. It is easy to digest and contains minimal allergens, making it an ideal choice for those with lactose intolerance or sensitive stomachs. Its high vitamin D content aids calcium absorption, supporting strong bones and helping to prevent osteoporosis. Additionally, its rich mineral composition—including magnesium, phosphorus, sodium, and potassium—contributes to overall bodily functions. Thanks to its antioxidant properties, goat cheese promotes healthy cell development, while its high vitamin A content benefits thyroid function. The cooperative’s goat cheese is made from 100% whole milk, without additives or cow’s milk, and contains only minimal preservatives, preserving all its valuable nutrients and natural flavors.
The Tiszaadony Cheese Factory aims to develop a variety of goat cheeses in different packaging and flavors, offering an increasingly diverse selection to consumers. Thanks to the project, production has become not only faster and more efficient but also more competitive in the market. Special attention was given to product promotion and sales improvement, supported by a comprehensive marketing strategy. Beyond technological modernization, the EU-funded development also focused on job creation, resulting in five new positions within the project.
The development was implemented from EU funding in the project GINOP-5.1.7-17-2019-00335 under the Economic Development and Innovation Operational Programme Plus.
