The Konzinfo Utazom (in English: Publicinfo Travel) mobile application assists in preparing for foreign travel, providing up-to-date information about destinations, the contact details of Hungarian diplomatic missions, and sending notifications in case of emergencies. In addition to the app, two new online platforms, Konzinfo Appointment and the Consular Assistant, help manage official matters for those staying abroad.
The number of Hungarian citizens traveling abroad increases year by year. The information platforms operated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade can be extremely useful both during the planning and throughout the journey. This comprehensive development, funded by the European Union, provides easily accessible, up-to-date information to help Hungarian citizens prepare for travel abroad, and continuously offers current information for those already abroad—especially in the case of emergency situations.
Konzinfo Utazom is the official mobile application of the Consular Service, providing up-to-date and comprehensive travel advice, along with other useful consular information on nearly 200 countries worldwide. Users can also access the global contact details of Hungarian consulates and easily add them to their phone’s contact list. The app keeps track of the security classifications of different countries, helping travelers make informed and responsible decisions when choosing their destination. This development offers detailed information on entry requirements, necessary travel documents, local healthcare guidelines, and other important topics.
With the app, users can register online for consular protection, which facilitates quick and effective communication between Hungarian citizens in crisis zones and consular authorities in case of emergencies such as natural disasters or civil unrest. This enables faster consular assistance. In emergency situations, travelers can also receive urgent notifications on their mobile devices and easily respond to inform the Consular Service of their status. The application is free to download on mobile devices from major app stores (Google Play and App Store).
Alongside the mobile application, the Konzinfo Appointment platform (https://konzinfoidopont.mfa.gov.hu ) has been developed as the online appointment booking system of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. This platform allows citizens to schedule appointments online for submitting consular applications in person at diplomatic missions, available in eleven foreign languages. The system offers several convenient features, including automatic confirmation messages for booked, modified, or canceled appointments, reminder notifications for previously scheduled appointments, and the option to easily save booking details to the mobile device’s calendar.
Another significant consular development is the Konzinfo Assistant online platform (https://konzinfougyseged.mfa.gov.hu ), which facilitates the submission of various administrative applications. It enables the electronic preparation of citizenship, visa, and ministerial authentication requests, as well as the online registration for consular protection.
Another key focus of the EU-funded project was to support Hungarian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in expanding into foreign markets. Hungarian SMEs offer world-class products in various industries, and achieving their international business goals requires quick and structured access to essential information. As a result of this development, the BusinessHungary portal provides an up-to-date knowledge base to assist domestic SMEs. With its help, businesses can align their export objectives with market demands and track the status of their transactions anytime, from anywhere. This unified platform facilitates efficient communication between Hungarian and foreign companies, as well as institutions supporting export activities. By enabling real-time information sharing, it allows businesses to respond instantly to market changes. The portal is available at https://businesshungary.mfa.gov.hu.
The development was implemented from EU funding in the project KÖFOP-1.0.0-VEKOP-15-2016-00036 under the Public Administration and Public Service Development Operational Programme.
