The opening of a new nursery is more than the inauguration of a building — it brings real, tangible change to the everyday lives of families with young children and strengthens the entire community in the long term.
Built with funding from the European Union, the brand-new nursery has welcomed children from Balatonszentgyörgy and nearby communities since September 2024. The facility makes it significantly easier for parents to return to work or manage daily responsibilities, offering peace of mind knowing their children are cared for by qualified professionals.
Designed to accommodate 24 children, the nursery was created as a safe, warm, and child-friendly environment. Two group rooms, child-adapted washrooms and changing areas, as well as practical drop-off spaces ensure smooth daily operations. A stroller storage area and an accessible restroom further enhance convenience. The group rooms open directly onto terraces leading to the playground, where a variety of outdoor toys and equipment support the development of coordination and motor skills, inviting children to explore and play freely.
Beyond its core functions, the nursery also offers additional services. A salt therapy room and a dedicated movement development space have been established, allowing children who require targeted support to receive care locally. Modern developmental tools — selected with the guidance of methodological experts — have been acquired specifically to support the skills and abilities of children under the age of three.
The development was implemented from EU funding in the project TOP-1.4.1-19-SO1-2019-00022 under the Territorial and Settlement Development Operational Programme.
