No guesswork here: production capacity up by 15%

A roll of plastic film may look like little more than raw material, but with the right machinery it can quickly be turned into bags, sacks and other products for industrial use. At HOK-PLASTIC Ltd. in Mórahalom, this stage of production had long been one of the main bottlenecks. With EU support, the company was able to expand its capacity by purchasing two modern bag-making machines.

The new equipment was installed in the converting plant, where plastic film is turned into bags and sacks in a wide range of sizes and designs. One of the machines is mainly used to produce flat plastic bags for industrial use, while the other can process rolled film and bags, including special corner-sealed products.

Both machines can handle different types of polyethylene film and can operate at speeds of up to 150 metres per minute. Their broad production range also gives the company greater flexibility, making it easier to meet different customer requirements while increasing the overall output of finished products.

The investment significantly increased the company’s bag-making capacity and improved the efficiency of the wider production process. Together, the two machines delivered a capacity increase of around 15%, enabling HOK-PLASTIC Ltd. to handle larger orders more efficiently.

The project shows that improving competitiveness does not always require a complete overhaul of a factory or production line. Sometimes, a carefully targeted investment at the right stage of production can make a major difference. At HOK-PLASTIC Ltd., the two new machines made the process from plastic film to finished product faster, more flexible and more efficient.

The development was implemented from EU funding in the project GINOP-1.2.11-20-2020-00008 under the Economic Development and Innovation Operational Programme Plus.
