The EU-supported development of Pharmatextil Ltd. is part of the company’s technological renewal process. Through the support, the company acquired two special, high-capacity knitting machines that have taken the production of compression stockings to a new level and represented a significant advancement in efficiency alongside lower production costs.
Operating since 1990, Pharmatextil Ltd. is a leader in the development of medical and preventive textile products, particularly in the field of leg and arm stockings. The company’s success is based on continuous innovation and high quality: modern raw materials, computer-controlled equipment, strict quality control, and quality management according to the MSZ EN ISO 9001:2009 standard ensure that their products meet the highest European expectations.
Compression stockings are specialized textile products designed to help prevent thrombosis, reduce varicose veins, alleviate leg swelling, and provide support during pregnancy or prolonged standing or sitting work. The acquisition of the new knitting machines has made it possible for Pharmatextil to produce stockings simultaneously in various sizes and compression levels — meaning different yarn thicknesses — as well as to manufacture these products in larger quantities, meeting the growing domestic and international demand.
This investment not only increased the company’s production capacity but also contributes to improving patients’ quality of life, as more precise and reliable compression allows for faster and more effective recovery.
The development was implemented from EU funding in the project GINOP-1.2.2-15-2015-01139 under the Economic Development and Innovation Operational Programme Plus.
