The primary school in the village of Ecsegfalva, located in Békés County, has been renovated with approximately HUF 77 million in European Union and domestic funding from from the Territorial and Settlement Development Operational Programme Plus (TSDOP Plus).
One of the key pillars of the TSDOP Plus is the initiative entitled “Energy-efficient Renovation of Municipal Public Buildings,” which aligns with the strategic objectives of the operational programme by promoting the transition to a low-carbon economy. This is achieved by supporting, among other initiatives, the energy modernisation of municipally owned educational institutions. The Pillars – Operations of Strategic Importance (OSI) within the 2021-2027 programming period – play a pivotal role in furthering the objectives of the operational programme.
As part of the energy modernisation of the 844-square-meter primary school, the facade and ceiling were insulated, the external windows and doors were replaced, new heating equipment was installed, and a solar panel system was introduced. Additionally, accessibility improvements were made. Thanks to the project, the energy efficiency of the school building has been significantly enhanced, providing a more comfortable environment for both the students and teachers to engage in their educational activities.
