A community’s true strength is reflected in how it cares for its youngest members and the families raising them. In Aldebrő, this commitment has taken shape in the creation of a new family nursery — a long-standing goal for the village that now provides tangible support to parents of young children.
The previous lack of nursery services posed serious challenges for local families, forcing many into long commutes and complicated daily arrangements. It is therefore a tremendous relief that the village now has a facility where parents can confidently drop off their young children each morning. Established with EU funding, the nursery offers a stable and reliable solution, providing families with a sense of security and predictability. The building is modern and fully accessible, and all necessary furniture, equipment, and developmental toys have been acquired to ensure high-quality care.
The new family nursery has one group room and can accommodate up to seven children. Daily care is provided by a qualified early childhood educator. The institution’s mission is to complement family upbringing, with particular attention to supporting disadvantaged and multiply disadvantaged children, as well as children with disabilities and special educational needs. The nursery also offers playgroup sessions, fostering early development and positive community experiences.
In the long term, the establishment of the nursery strengthens Aldebrő’s ability to retain its population. It saves families time and energy while encouraging young people to envision their future in the village and raise their children locally. The investment therefore represents both practical support and a forward-looking contribution to the community’s future.
