The track is steep in Miskolc

The comprehensive development of the Factory Arena sports facility, located within the Diósgyőr Steelworks area, has resulted in a dynamic leisure center. Equipped with modern infrastructure, this space provides young people with opportunities for active recreation, extreme sports, community engagement, and social interaction.

If you love cycling and being part of a great community, then the story of the Komlóstető Cycling Sports Club in Miskolc will definitely interest you! Back in 1995, a group of enthusiastic young people from a small district decided to do more than just ride together—they wanted to build a real club. Over the years, they realized that cycling was just one part of the picture. The real focus became supporting disadvantaged youth and fostering a strong community.

At some point, it became clear: they needed a home, not just for their bikes but for their community as well. That’s where Factory Arena came into play. This venue is not just a sports hall but a vibrant community space, hosting six different civil organizations. It regularly offers community-building and preventive programs, ensuring that every young person can find something exciting to do.

The Factory Arena’s EU-backed project was anything but small-scale. A 4,900 m² old industrial hall was transformed into a modern space for both sports and community activities. The development included major upgrades, such as new reception and service areas (lobby, info point, storage, offices, mechanical rooms), comfortable and modern locker rooms, showers, and restrooms—including accessible facilities—as well as a hall specifically designed for extreme sports. Additionally, energy-efficient upgrades ensure that the venue is usable year-round.

Following the renovation, the Miskolc Factory Arena has become a true community hub, featuring a café, a heated common area, and plenty of sports opportunities. The project has also strengthened the cooperation among civil organizations, making the activities here even more diverse and engaging. A key goal is to support the health, sports, and recreational activities of disadvantaged youth.

If you haven’t been here yet, it’s worth a visit! Whether you’re into cycling, extreme sports, or just looking for a great community experience, Factory Arena is open to everyone. Let’s go—hit the track!
