For the growth of domestic fish consumption and demand, it is essential that fish processing plants operate in a modern environment with new equipment. The “Győri Előre” Fisheries Cooperative successfully implemented developments with EU grants for fish processing and competitive productivity, which strengthen the company’s further modernisation processes.
As part of the project, Bajcshal Kft. primarily carried out the expansion and reconstruction of their facility. The floor area of the old building was approximately 500 square meters. With the construction of the upper level, the company now has a 650 sqm workspace at its disposal. In the lower part of the new building, new changing rooms, cold storage, a truck loading dock, a fish shop, and a cash desk are located. On the upper level, a veterinary room and a laboratory have been established in connection with the plant. Next to the offices, a meeting room has also been created, where production meetings, as well as procurement and sales negotiations, can be conducted. During the renovation, the flooring was also renewed.
During the company’s equipment procurement, 2 refrigerated trucks were also purchased, each capable of transporting 8 pallets of refrigerated goods between -20 °C and +4 °C. In addition, the company has acquired a packaging and labeling machine, which allows for the production of 40 trays per minute, using 9.8 kW/h of electricity. Thanks to the newly acquired ozone generator machine, the amount of chemicals used has been reduced. The new camera system enables quick intervention in case of any operational disruptions. With the acquisition of modern enterprise management software, the identification and tracking of products and their individual components, as well as the establishment of systems ensuring traceability, become available.
Thanks to the development, the fish processing plant’s capacity has been expanded, partner service has become more reliable, and the company’s competitiveness has increased. Additionally, the expansion of the vehicle fleet ensures safe goods transportation.
The development was implemented from EU funding in the project MAHOP-5.3.3-2016-2018-00014 under the Hungarian Fisheries Operational Programme.
