Employment forum in Pest County

2025. 05. 13.

The Government Office of Pest County organized an employment forum as part of the Pillar Project, with the participation of employers, businesses, civil organizations, and institutions.

One of the goals of the Operations of Strategic Importance (OSI) for the 2021–2027 programming period—referred to in the Hungarian development policy as Pillars—is to increase the visibility of EU funding, widely showcasing the results achieved to the public. The Economic Development and Innovation Operational Programme Plus includes two key pillars: the Youth Guarantee Plus, and the Expansion and Development of Labour Supply—both implemented nationwide.

The Youth Guarantee Plus targets young people aged 15–29 who are not in education, employment, or training (NEET), helping them gain employment, work experience, and marketable skills. The program is supported by approximately HUF 102 billion in EU funding.

The Expansion and Development of Labour Supply project uses HUF 150 billion to support job seekers and inactive individuals over the age of 30, with a special focus on disadvantaged groups, their potential employers, and individuals transitioning out of public employment. The integration of these target groups into the open labor market is promoted through a series of interconnected services and support measures.

The Government Office emphasised that it provides assistance and information to businesses not only in the field of labour and human resources but across the broadest possible range of support opportunities. In addition to the Economic Development and Innovation Operational Programme Plus Pillar projects, the Digital Renewal Operational Programme Plus also provides development opportunities, particularly aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The forum also featured presentations on current taxation issues and labor inspections, which are important from the perspective of everyday business operations.

The primary objective of labour market programmes is to promote the employment of job seekers and inactive individuals, enabling as many people as possible to contribute to both their own well-being and the prosperity of their communities through meaningful work.
