Pasta – this versatile staple food – is a favorite for almost everyone, whether served with a rich sauce, baked in the oven, or enjoyed freshly cooked on its own. As one of Hungary’s largest pasta producers, Soós Tészta Ltd. is now able to offer Hungarian consumers an even wider variety of high-quality products, thanks to support from the European Union.
The company successfully applied for a grant aimed at expanding the production capacities of small and medium-sized enterprises in Pest County. This funding made it possible for businesses to acquire modern machinery and equipment, as well as to establish sites with advanced infrastructure.
As part of the project, Soós Tészta Ltd. purchased a total of five pasta production machines, along with several specialized devices – including a ribbon pasta cutter, a noodle-making machine, and equipment for producing and sorting tarhonya (Hungarian egg barley).
| Founded in 1981 by Zoltán Soós, Soós Tészta Ltd. has grown to become one of the fastest-developing companies in the Hungarian pasta industry. In the early years, production took place under small-scale, artisanal conditions, using traditional rolling techniques and minimal mechanization. Building on the success of its first years, the company opened a new pasta factory in Vecsés in 1999, equipped with modern Italian ITALPAST production lines. The year 2004 marked another milestone, with the inauguration of a new warehouse, upgrades to the quality management system, and the honor of receiving the Hungarian Product Grand Prize commendation. |
The primary goal of this latest development was to strengthen the company’s competitiveness, expand its production capacity, and increase the added value of its products. With the help of state-of-the-art technology, Soós Tészta Ltd. continues to reinforce its market position and ensure that its products represent the highest standards of quality both in Hungary and abroad.
The development was implemented from EU funding in the project VEKOP-1.2.1-16-2016-00120 under the Competitive Central Hungary Operational Programme.
