One of the most important educational institutions in the town has not only been renovated but also modernized, now functioning as a state-of-the-art and inspiring educational center.
As part of a project funded by the Human Resource Development Operational Program and supported by the European Union, more than 4,400 square meters of infrastructure have been upgraded. One of the most striking improvements is the new 400-square-meter wing, connected to the old school building by a covered corridor. This section houses spacious, bright classrooms, designed for flexibility—thanks to soundproof mobile partitions, the rooms can be easily transformed into group workspaces, making it a dream for innovative teaching methods. Special attention was given to accessibility, with the installation of an elevator, ensuring that all students and teachers can move around the building without difficulty.
But the transformation didn’t stop with the new wing—the old sections of the school have also been completely renovated. The facade received modern thermal insulation, the flooring in all indoor areas was replaced, and the classrooms were repainted, creating a more aesthetic and engaging learning environment. Additionally, the school’s electrical system was upgraded, and solar panels were installed, making the institution more energy-efficient. This not only reduces environmental impact but also introduces students to sustainability principles from a young age.
The renovation project went far beyond just upgrading classrooms—the school was also expanded with new, practical facilities. From now on, students and teachers will have access to a speech therapy room, a modern library, a faculty lounge, a student common area, a medical room, and a new administrative office. The state-of-the-art IT classrooms, equipped with the latest computer technology, will allow students to fully embrace the opportunities of the digital age. In addition to ICT tools, the school has been furnished with new furniture, educational development tools, and sports equipment to support daily physical education activities.
To facilitate student commutes and promote equal opportunities, the school has also acquired a school bus, making daily travel easier for students.
One of the most exciting improvements for students attending PE classes and sports training is the renovation of the gymnasium. Thanks to the new gas-powered infrared heaters, the gym now provides a comfortable temperature even during the cold winter months.
As a result of this major investment, the nearly 300 students and teachers at the school can now learn and work in a modern, welcoming, and motivating environment.
The development was implemented from EU funding in the project EFOP-4.1.2-17-2017-00060 under the Human Resource Development Operational Programme.
