The HUF 6 billion scholarship is funded by the European Union and domestic sources and is available within the Pillar project of the Human Resource Development Operational Programme Plus through the Hungarian State Treasury.
The operations of strategic importance (OSI) of the 2021-27 programming period, commonly known as Pillars, aim to provide greater visibility of EU support by widely showcasing the achieved results to the public. Every operational program has Pillars, and one of the Pillars of HRDOP Plus is the project titled ” Incentive support for early childhood educators with student status”.
The non-repayable grant will be available and can be applied for through the website of the Hungarian State Treasury from December 2 for those with an active student status in a technical training for child care and education or in a bachelor’s programme for infant and toddler education living in rural settlements. The amount of the scholarship, which is available for a maximum of 20 months, is a net monthly amount of HUF 59,000 for technical training and HUF 125,000 for higher education undergraduate training.
The aim of the support is to ensure the supply of professionals for both existing and newly established institutions providing nursery care. Therefore, applicants must commit to working in nursery care after completing their studies, where the number of places has doubled since 2010: from 32,500 to nearly 68,000, and today there are nurseries operating in more than 1,200 settlements in Hungary.
