Disaster management stations were built in Tolcsva and Villány

2024. 07. 17.

Within the framework of the project implemented with the support of the Environmental and Energy Efficiency Operational Programme, new fire stations were built in the settlements of Tolcsva in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County and Villány in Baranya County.

The project, titled the establishment of fire stations – traditional type of stations (Tolcsva, Villány), has resulted in an increase in the life and property safety of residents living in the area, thanks to firefighters responding to calls more quickly. It’s worth mentioning that this also enhances the effectiveness of lifesaving.

The frequency of forest and surface fires is increasing due to climate change. Due to the fact that they can’t always be prevented, disaster management must emphasize preparedness, operational, and effective intervention skills.

The integration of new fire stations into the disaster management system will lead to better disaster management, territorial coverage, and reduced exit time.
