European Union funding has helped to modernise some public institutions in Kistarcsa, enabling them to operate more efficiently in terms of energy use.
One of the main objectives of the Environmental and Energy Efficiency Operational Program (KEHOP) is to promote energy efficiency measures. Within this framework, the energy modernization of the Simándy József Primary School and Art School, as well as the Mayor’s Office buildings in Kistarcsa, has been realised.
Almost all of the windows in the high roof wing of the school have been replaced, with the exception of the 8 roof windows and the lobby doorway. Care has also been taken to insulate the sloping and ceiling planes of the built-in attic and its covering with fire-resistant drywall as well. The rainwater drainage gutters have also been reconstructed. When replacing the entrance doors, the conditions for accessible movement were also taken into account. Thanks to the developments, much more modern buildings are now available for the school’s students and teachers.
Thanks to the project, the Mayor’s Office building has also completed the insulation of its façade and plinth, as well as the related pavement renovation. Insulation works were carried out, when it comes to the attic slab, flat roof and against rainwater and the roof sheathing was replaced as well, making the institution’s operation more energy-efficient and modern.
As a result of a project, buildings can save energy and reduce CO2 emissions, which measures contribute to achieving the EU and national climate goals.
The development was implemented from EU funding in the project KEHOP-5.2.9-16-2016-00005 under the Environment and Energy Efficiency Operational Programme.
