Hungarian zeal in the fashion world

In Hungary, the most important net job creators are micro and small enterprises, nearly two-thirds of which are sole proprietorships. It’s not easy to embark on this path, but a significant boost was provided by an EU project, which, by offering financial and business support, enables young people to take their first independent steps in the economy.

Business development is one of the most important driving forces of Hungarian economic growth. The Hungarian government has set the goal of reducing unemployment, expanding employment opportunities, promoting entrepreneurship, and supporting start-ups. The aim of the EU project “Supporting Job Seekers in Becoming Entrepreneurs,” implemented under the Economic Development and Innovation Operational Programme, was to prepare young people aged 18-30 living in the less developed regions of Hungary to launch their own businesses. The project provided knowledge and skill development for creating their business plans, as well as non-repayable funds to support the capital of the enterprises launched based on the approved business plans. The development was realised in the form of transferred support, with the founders of the enterprise receiving the support through the program’s beneficiary, thereby reducing their administrative burdens and ensuring the predictable and fast operation of the system.

Thanks to the project funded by EU, Georgina Rengei was able to start building the brand of the Rozmaring Hungarian Design. Even as a child, she loved art and crafts, and she learned the most important basics of sewing from her grandmother. Later, to gain more knowledge, she completed the master’s program in fashion and textile design at Budapest Metropolitan University. After that came the idea to establish her own fashion brand.

The business offers clothing items adorned with Hungarian motifs for both women and men, which are unique in appearance and align with the style of today’s modern era. For Georgina, it is important that the brand appeals to both young people and folk art enthusiasts, and that it conveys value beyond its usability. The designer gets inspiration from different Hungarian areas whose patterns, motifs are less known or used. The clothes – which are made in Hungary from start to end – are primarily available and can be purchased on the brand’s official website, but they are also available in stores in several cities, such as Budapest, Szentendre, Hévíz, Kecskemét, and Szeged. 

The Rozmaring Hungarian Design enterprise is an excellent example of supporting and encouraging young people in business development, not only creating jobs but also promoting economic growth and production. Success stories like this are capable of encouraging young people to take the plunge and realise their dreams in the business world.
