At the Zalaegerszeg Faculty of Business Administration of the Budapest Business University a unique, modern, environmentally conscious teaching and learning environment has been created, which contributes to the practical orientation of business and IT education, the application of corporate cooperation and the strengthening of innovative thinking.

Innovative capacity, knowledge and networking in social, economic, scientific and cultural relations are crucial for a region’s social development and economic recovery. The Faculty of Business Administration of Budapest Business University in Zalaegerszeg (BGE GKZ) plays a key role in the development of the Zala region. The project called Development of the BGE GKZ Innovation and Knowledge Centre using innovative solutions was implemented in Zalaegerszeg as a brownfield investment on an 11-hectare site with EU and national funding.

The aim of the development was to improve the quality of capacity, modernise the educational tools and environment, while ensuring access to competitive knowledge. Community spaces – Green Office Point, Robotics Online Point – have been created in the Centre to promote a proactive approach and develop the competences of teachers, researchers and students. In addition, modern teaching and service spaces simulating the international business environment have been created to implement the professional concept of practical training based on business partnerships and to contribute to the expansion of research networks.

By building on its infrastructure, the Knowledge Centre aims to foster the development of the region’s economy, moreover, it creates value by further strengthening its role in knowledge transfer and social innovation.
