Innovation, Automation and Precision Casting

2026. 08. 12.

Producing precise, highly detailed metal components requires both expertise and advanced technology. In Bicske, Magyarmet Ltd. has decades of experience in the field and is one of Hungary’s leading investment casting companies. The export-oriented manufacturer supplies customers across Europe, with its products used in the energy sector, automotive industry, mechanical engineering and chemical industry. With support from the European Union, the company carried out a major technological upgrade to make its precision casting processes more efficient.

The project brought together capacity expansion, digitalisation and automation, covering virtually the entire casting process. Cleaning and machining operations were upgraded with modern robotic solutions. A newly installed washing and material-handling robotic arm was integrated, both in hardware and software, with robots already operating at the plant. A new high-pressure water-jet cleaning system now removes ceramic shell residues from castings efficiently and in a more environmentally friendly way.

Heavy-duty lifting and handling equipment was also introduced for moving casting moulds, reducing the need for employees to handle heavy loads manually and making day-to-day operations safer and more efficient.

The company also commissioned a modern production machine capable of manufacturing customised components faster and with greater precision. Quality control was strengthened with new laboratory equipment used to analyse the composition of the metals employed in production.

In line with Industry 4.0 principles, the development also focused on energy efficiency. New compressors and drying equipment make compressed-air production more economical, while IT upgrades have expanded the company’s digital capabilities. Displays installed throughout the production facilities provide employees with clearer, up-to-date information on manufacturing processes and help make operations more transparent.

Overall, the project has enabled Magyarmet Ltd. to modernise several areas of its operations at the same time, improve efficiency and strengthen its ability to serve international partners, including the BMW Group.
