Road development in Dombrád

2024. 10. 14.

The city of Dombrád has successfully implemented road development initiatives under the Territorial and Settlement Development Operational Program Plus, which not only have a positive impact on the city’s transportation but also contribute to the local population’s retention and improve the overall environmental condition of the settlement.

The Municipality of Dombrád renovated part of its internal roads with European Union support. After successfully winning the tender, several roads have been modernised—Andrássy, Kossuth, Rákóczi, Széchenyi, and Thököly streets, which form the main transport system of the settlement-was carried out, ensuring better accessibility to the town center, public institutions, and public service facilities.

Road developments contribute to the smooth and faster transit traffic of the settlement, thereby also helping to reduce the harmful emissions caused by vehicles. The proper condition of the roads facilitates the connections between the town center and residential areas, which speeds up access routes and reduces environmental impact.

The project’s indirect economic stimulus, as well as its positive impact on job preservation and job creation, and thus the changes that improve the quality of life for the population, help maintain the city’s population retention capacity.
