TUTTI for Health and Beauty

As part of an EU-funded project, TUTTI Food Industry Ltd. developed a new type of product known as a nutritional cosmetic, or nutricosmetic. Nutricosmetics are functional foods that are more than simple food products: thanks to the ingredients they contain, they may help support the maintenance of health and beauty.

The development resulted in several new products. These include a smoothie drink powder with collagen and hyaluronic acid, containing ingredients that support skin regeneration; a dairy-free smoothie drink powder with brown seaweed and cactus fruit extract, designed to fit well into a weight-loss diet; and a sports drink in which traditional whey proteins and caseinates are partly replaced with plant-based ingredients. In addition, the company developed a sugar-free milk powder chewable tablet enriched with vitamins, intended as a functional confectionery substitute for children.

The products use fruits, vegetables, and leafy greens in powdered, freeze-dried form. Freeze-drying is one of the gentlest physical preservation methods available today. It allows plant-based ingredients to undergo minimal damage during processing while preserving their high nutritional value, including vitamins, enzymes, minerals, flavonoids, and proteins, as well as their aroma, flavour, and colour. This technology forms the basis of the products developed within the project, which are further enriched with additional active ingredients. As the company has its own laboratory, it was able to carry out the entire product development process in-house.

TUTTI Ltd. began its operations by producing ice cream powders, and its product range has since expanded to include dietary supplements and gluten-free foods. The company has been present on the market for more than three decades, continuously focusing on innovation and development. It exports to more than 60 countries, and its products have established a stable presence in the European functional food market. The company’s growth is also supported by the steadily increasing global demand for products related to sports nutrition and healthy lifestyles.

In addition to developing prototype products, the project also included experiments aimed at modernising the technology used to reduce mould contamination in cereal flours. As a result, the company created microbiologically stable flour mixes for both own-brand and branded products. This was especially important for TUTTI, as in recent years it has carried out significant research and development in the field of reduced-carbohydrate flour mixes and cake powder products.

TUTTI Ltd.’s long-term strategy focuses on developing innovative food products, reaching new customer groups, and strengthening its presence not only in Hungary but also on international markets.
