A new place for healing

2026. 05. 13.

The Municipality of Kadarkút implemented its project entitled “Construction of a Medical Clinic and Health Centre” with support from the European Union. The aim of the development was to modernise primary healthcare and create conditions that provide more up-to-date and comfortable services for the residents of the town and the surrounding area.

The previous health centre had served the local community for many years, but over time it became increasingly clear that the old building was less and less suited to smooth and efficient patient care. The rooms were often too cramped, accessibility had not been properly ensured, and the ground-floor and upper-floor sections of the building were not functionally connected. To avoid overcrowding, GP and health visitor appointments could only be held at different times, which made the day-to-day organisation of services even more difficult.

As a result of the development carried out with EU support, a new, modern Health Centre has been built. Following the demolition of the old facility, the new, approximately 350-square-metre institution was constructed on municipal-owned land. The single-storey building, barrier-free access, use of renewable energy, and sufficient number of parking spaces all help make healthcare services easier, more comfortable, and more sustainable to access.

The investment is significant not only for Kadarkút, but also for the neighbouring villages of Visnye, Mike, Hencse, Hedrehely, and Kőkút, and may contribute in the long term to improving the quality of life of more than 4,700 people in the area.
