From the perspective of the efficient operation of the public finances, transparency is a key factor. The aim of the project, implemented by the Hungarian State Treasury with EU support, was to improve transparency, revolutionizing the management of public finances with modern technology, simplifying processes, and ensuring the traceability of public funds.
With the help of the new IT system, public decision-makers can access the necessary data more quickly and accurately, thereby supporting targeted planning and the responsible use of public funds.
By integrating the various IT systems of the public finance sector, a unified database has been created that manages all important information in one place. The system not only makes the internal work of public administration more efficient but also reduces administrative burdens, thus freeing up significant capacities in the workflows of the Hungarian State Treasury. By automating administrative tasks, time and resources are freed up, allowing state bodies to operate more efficiently.
One of the system’s most important innovations is that it makes information about the use of public funds accessible to citizens. Through the Transparency Public Finance Portal, anyone can easily track how their tax money is being spent, thereby strengthening people’s trust in public institutions.
The new IT system not only modernizes the public finances but also contributes to the management of public finances in accordance with the requirements of the 21st century through simplified administration, faster decision-making, and making information accessible to citizens.
