The new FLIRT motor trains feature a number of advanced and convenient elements that make travelling more comfortable and faster.

The Győr-Sopron-Ebenfurt Vasút Zrt. (GYSEV Zrt.) has acquired new motor trains in several phases since 2013 with EU funding. Within the framework of project of the Integrated Transport Development Programme, which started in 2016, 10 more FLIRT-type motor trains have arrived which expanded the fleet. The tenth train was delivered by Standler in the first half of 2019.

The trains have a low-floor design, which makes it easier for passengers to get on and off the trains, so that even people with reduced mobility can travel without problems.  The aesthetic and modern-looking passenger compartment is easy to clean, which contributes to the efficiency of maintaining the vehicles, while the accessible toilets and washrooms further enhance passenger comfort.

The cabin which reduces noise also ensures a quiet and relaxing journey while the built-in air conditioning and heating system regulate the right temperature in the cabin all year round.  The real-time audio and visual information system help passengers to receive up-to-date information about current situations and upcoming stops.

Moreover, free WIFI access is provided onboard so that passengers can easily connect to the internet while travelling, and 230 V power sockets are also available for them.

Trains are suitable for transporting your bike onboard so cyclists can easily approach cycle paths which are far away.

The trains can be travelling at a speed of 160 km/hour and their advanced mechanical systems and favorable energy recuperation features support environmentally friendly operations and reduce operating costs.

The purchase of the new FLIRT motor trains is a significant step for GYSEV Zrt. towards a modern and sustainable rail transport. Thanks to the support of the European Union, the railway company offers a better service and a higher quality travel experience to its passengers.
