When a hospital is renewed, it sends a clear message: we want to create an environment that truly supports both treatment and healing. A clean, renovated space does more than look nice—it conveys order and safety, which are especially important during the vulnerable period of recovery.
With this goal in mind, Gyöngyös’ Bugát Pál Hospital, thanks to EU funding, launched a project to raise the professional standards of its outpatient care services.
The hospital has upgraded its medical and IT equipment and made significant accessibility improvements. Several departments received state-of-the-art medical devices, including gastroenterology, transfusion medicine, urology, physiotherapy, cardiology, obstetrics-gynecology, otolaryngology, and ophthalmology. In addition to improving medical capabilities, new IT systems were installed to support modern data storage, management, and more efficient consultative care.
The project also improved the hospital’s infrastructure. In the Hotel-Diagnosztika building, an entire washroom area was renovated and equipped with accessible toilets and sinks. Both the main entrance and the emergency entrance were made fully accessible, and the two lifts were upgraded to ensure safe, barrier-free movement for outpatients.
Thanks to these improvements, outpatient services are now delivered in modern, fully equipped facilities. This not only speeds up and streamlines care but also reduces the demand on inpatient wards. The upgrades have had a positive impact on the satisfaction of both patients and the hospital’s doctors and healthcare staff.

The development was implemented from EU funding in the project EFOP-2.2.19-17-2017-00066 under the Human Resource Development Operational Programme.
