Modern technology helps make better use of corn in Monostorpályi

2026. 06. 26.

AGRI-CORN Ltd. operates in the Hajdúság region of the Great Hungarian Plain, an area known for corn production. The company began its work thirty years ago and has since also entered the market for gluten-free products. An EU-funded project provided the Monostorpályi-based business with an opportunity to expand its operations.

The project mainly focused on strengthening the production of corn-based dry pasta. The goal was to increase annual production capacity by several hundred tonnes, which was achieved by installing a new, high-capacity pasta production line. The plant’s infrastructure was also modernised with a new ventilation and building services system. In addition, the hot water and steam supply was upgraded through the installation of an automated system designed to improve energy efficiency. Another important element of the project was the digital support of financial, logistics, and sales processes.

By expanding AGRI-CORN Ltd.’s production capacity, improving resource efficiency, and strengthening its technological readiness, the development helped reinforce the company’s market position. The project, which modernised and increased the company’s food industry capacities, also contributed to the retention of 39 jobs. It is a good example of how technological and organisational improvements can support Hungarian businesses in becoming more competitive, preserving jobs or creating new ones, and promoting sustainable development.
